Two new wildfires have occurred in Los Angeles and Ventura counties in the USA, the Bulgarian Consulate General in Los Angeles wrote on its Facebook page on Thursday.
The Hughes Fire has covered over 10,000 acres of land, and firefighting crews have contained 14%. Orders have been issued to evacuate five areas, roads have been closed, and shelters have been opened.
The Sepulveda Fire has covered 45 acres of land, and 60% of it has been contained.
The Consulate General advises Bulgarians in the vicinity of any of the affected areas to stay indoors and not to open windows unnecessarily, to limit going outside and not to undertake travel without a reason. When outside, they should use face masks, be informed by the media of the current situation, and follow strictly the instructions of local
authorities.
The team of the Consulate General is on standby around the clock to assist those in need of assistance or Bulgarian citizens in distress.
