A Romanian truck driver was arrested after trying to bribe police officers in Ruse on Tuesday, said Daniela Malcheva, regional spokesperson of the Interior Ministry.

After officers from the Traffic Police stopped the truck for inspection, the 63-year-old driver refused to be tested for alcohol, trying to bribe the police with two EUR 200 banknotes.

The driver was arrested for up to 24 hours and a fast-track proceeding was initiated for the crime committed.
