An exhibition by Bulgarian painters Miroslav Minchev and Ivan Velchev - Yovo, entitled "Fragments", opened at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin. It presents a mix of shown and unseen works, selected by the artists especially for the Berlin audience, said the Bulgarian Cultural Institute there.
The exhibition can be viewed in the halls of the Institute until September 5.
Since 1996 Miroslav Minchev has been the head and main teacher at the Sfumato Theatre Laboratory, and since 2020 he has been the organizer and curator of the cultural performances of the National Assembly. He studied wood carving at the Tryavna School of Art. In 1992 he graduated as a Master of Graphic Arts, Aesthetics and Pedagogy of Fine Arts at the University of Veliko Tarnovo. Minchev works in the field of painting, graphics, graphic design, church arts - icon painting and wood carving for Orthodox temples. He has had solo exhibitions in Bulgaria, Germany, Austria, Italy and Romania.
Winner of painting awards from Germany, Austria and several from Bulgaria, Ivan Velchev - Yovo is a graduate of the Music High School in his hometown Pleven and the School of Arts and Crafts in Sofia. Since 1981 he has participated in group exhibitions and international graphic biennales in Poland, Switzerland, Austria and Greece. He has had a number of solo exhibitions in Bulgaria, Poland, Germany, France, Hungary, Slovakia.
