The Movement for Right and Freedoms (MRF) released a statement on behalf of MRF Floor Leader Delyan Peevski here on Friday saying that Bulgaria should be represented by the caretaker Prime Minister, Dimitar Glavchev, at the NATO Summit on July 9 - 11 in Washington, D.C. Peevski's argument against having President Rumen Radev represent the country is that Radev could use the forum to spread Russian propaganda and instil fears in the Bulgarian people, "as we have witnessed such scandalous cases before".
According to Peevski, in this decisive moment for the world and Europe's security, Bulgaria should be represented by a person with a clear Euro-Atlantic profile, who will express the irrevocability of Bulgaria's commitment to all Alliance decisions related to Ukraine's legitimate right to defend itself from Russia's military aggression.
Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev sent a letter on Thursday to National Assembly Chair Raya Nazaryan and the parliamentary groups in the 50th Parliament to ask who will represent Bulgaria at the NATO Summit on July 9 - 11 in Washington, D.C.
