Representatives of the national Economic and Social Councils (ESCs) of the EU Member States and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) adopted a document on their efforts regarding the green transition and digitalization, the mechanisms for taking into account the needs of the individual and the future of jobs in the regions affected by the transition, the ESC said. The councils of the EU Member States reported their achievements at the Annual Meeting of the Presidents and Secretaries-General of the EU ESCs and the EESC.

"The work of Bulgaria's Economic and Social Council is an example of how balanced positions and successful policies can be achieved through dialogue and cooperation," ESC Chair Zornitsa Rusinova told the delegates on Thursday. "During its term, the ESC has adopted more than 15 acts relating to the green transition. One of the key acts is a Resolution adopted this year to create a National Just Transition Plan," she said.

The international event chaired by EESC President Oliver Roepke took place in Brussels on June 19 and 20. It was an opportunity for valuable discussion and exchange of good practices among  the national ESCs in the EU, the press release said.
