site.btaNearly BGN 9.3 Mln Disbursed to Hoteliers, State, Municipal and Departmental Facilities Accommodating Ukrainian Refugees

An amount of BGN 9,275,665 was paid Tuesday to the persons who provided accommodation under the programme for humanitarian assistance to displaced persons from Ukraine with temporary protection in the Republic of Bulgaria. On Wednesday, all the funds should be deposited in the relevant accounts, the Tourism Ministry said.

The list, approved on June 5 by the Council of Ministers, includes amounts due to hoteliers, state, municipal and departmental facilities for the months of November and December 2023, as well as for January and February 2024.

The funds have been disbursed on 472 approved claims for aid, by all 20,348 identified eligible persons for aid under the programme with 565 365 verified overnight stays.

The Ministry of Tourism, as administrator of the programme, is currently processing the claims received for the months of March and April 2024, which will constitute the forthcoming list. It will be ready for submission to the Council of Ministers by the end of June.
