The Sofia Opera and Ballet House presents an exhibition of posters from performances of operas by composer Richard Wagner, selected from the collection of German music critic Klaus Billand, the opera house said on Thursday.

The exhibition was put on display on the eve of the Wagner Festival and the premiere of Lohengrin.

The posters are collected from different cities across the world – Sofia, Essen, Minden, Buenos Aires, Copenhagen, Vienna, Wroclaw. Many of the posters refer to the myths behind The Ring and other works by Wagner, such as The Flying Dutchman from the Mannheim National Theater, Tannhäuser from the Heidenheim Festival in Germany, Tristan und Isolde and The Master-Singers of Nuremberg - with a wooden model of a shoe, as well as Parsifal.
