The Council of Ministers approved additional expenditure of BGN 23.5 million on the Central Election Commission's budget for 2024. The funds are to financially support the activities carried out by the CEC related to the conduct of the two-in-one elections for MPs and MEPs held on June 9.
The financial resource is intended to pay for procurement contracts concluded by the CEC. These relate to the provision of the machine voting, the production and supply of specialty paper for the machine voting ballot papers, the paper ballot papers, the computer processing of the voting data, and the publication of a bulletin containing the results of the elections.
The funds will be provided through restructuring of expenditure and/or transfers under the central budget for 2024.
