All activities in preparation for the elections were carried out in full transparency and on time. This was reported to Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev by the ministers in charge of the organization of the upcoming vote on June 9, the Cabinet press office said on Friday. Glavchev convened a working meeting at the Council of Ministers, which reported on the implementation of the previously outlined schedule. There were no delays in any of the deadlines, said Transport and Communications Minister Georgi Gvozdeykov, to whom the government entrusted the coordination of the implementation of activities related to the organizational and technical preparation of the elections.
Minister of e-Governance Valentin Mundrov highlighted the additional measures that his team has put in place in order to maximize transparency in the certification of voting machines. The minister added that the CCTV devices are already in place. Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov said that a timetable is expected from the Central Election Commission (CEC) for the transportation of the machines, which should take place on June 8.
Regional Development and Public Works Minister Violeta Koritarova noted that the voters' lists have been updated and were drawn up on the basis of the data received daily from municipal administrations to update the national population database, so that there is no duplication of voters entitled to vote by permanent residence and current address.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also in the final stages of preparations for the elections abroad. Later in the day, the last voting machines will be delivered outside the country. Representatives of the Bulgarian state for the polling stations are on their way. Deputy Minister Ivan Kondov pointed out that on June 8 the Foreign Ministry is expected to report on the completion of the preparation to CEC.
