site.btaPresident Radev Confers with Taraclia District Leadership Representatives

President Rumen Radev conferred with Lazar Dermenji, Chairperson of the Moldovan Taraclia District, and Stepan Karamalak, Head of the External Relations Service of the Taraclia District, the press secretariat of the Head of State said on Wednesday.

The meeting discussed prospects for development of interaction between the Bulgarian community in Moldova and state institutions in Bulgaria, as well as topics related to education, culture and science.

During his visit to Bulgaria, Dermenji also met with Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad Executive Director Rayna Mandzhukova. He thanked the Agency for organizing a free professional development course for Taraclia District school principals, which was held in April 2024 in Blagoevgrad.

Quoted by the Taraclia District administration, Dermenji noted that conducting such courses is very effective, and suggested that a similar course be held for project drafting specialists. Mandzhukova explained that the Foreign Ministry, among other Bulgarian ministries, accept applications for funding various projects every year, and the quality of the application submitted determines who will win. Such a free professional development course could increase the number of winning projects for the Taraclia region and the Bulgarian community in Moldova.

Dermenji also conferred with Ivan Pavlov, Director of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Directorate at the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry. The two sides discussed the process of transformation of the Gregory Tsamblak State University of Taraclia into a subsidiary of the Angel Kanchev University of Ruse, as well as the financial assistance provided by Bulgaria for the completion of the construction of a new food block in the Tvardita lyceum.
