Prof. Vili Lilkov, who is the top-of-the list candidate of the Blue Bulgaria Coalition for Sofia's Multi-member Constituency No. 23 and for the Vidin Multi-member Constituency, on Wednesday press-launched his new book titled "The Bombing Attack at the St Nedelya Church and BCP's Road to Villainy".
Based on archive documents and reminiscences, the book tells about a bombing attack staged by the Bulgarian Communist Party at Sofia's St Nedelya Church, intended to exterminate the country's political and military elite gathered there for General Konstantin Georgiev's funeral service.
Lilkov found that the Communist villains expressly invited particular people to the funeral on behalf of the Union of Reserve Officers, working down a hit list, while being sure that none of their own atheist members would attend the service and would thus escape unhurt.
"This book commemorates all victims of the St Nedelya bombing and those who perished later, during the Red Terror that Bulgaria had to endure after 1944," the author said.
