site.btaInterior Ministry Has Received 128 Alerts for Voting Violations

So far, 128 alerts for vote buying have been received and 51 pre-trial proceedings have been initiated, caretaker Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov said here on Tuesday.

A specialized police operation related to the violation of the citizens’ electoral rights is currently underway on the territory of Sliven. Seven alerts are being checked. During searches at various addresses, the police found lists of names and sums of money as well as other items that could serve as evidence for crimes committed, the Minister said.

Similar operations can be expected in Northwestern Bulgaria in the coming days, Stoyanov noted. 

The Interior Minister was in Roman in connection with the transformation of the town’s police station into a district police department.
