Addressing an election campaign event of the Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) coalition in Pleven on May 24, DB co-chair Hristo Ivanov said: "The formation of a government after the elections is not a question of arithmetic, but of whose political logic will prevail. Will it be what we are proposing – continuation of the reforms, the search for agreement around national priorities such as Schengen, the eurozone, judicial reform, a change in income policy, the political model, investment in human capital, or what they are proposing - a government of GERB and the MRF (the Movement for Rights and Freedoms) with Prime Minister [Boyko] Borissov".
In Ivanov's words, Borissov now "warms up" by sending messages that there is no money, but this is not true. Ivanov argued that GERB and MRF want to return to the governance model where money is siphoned out of the economy and redistributed to a small circle of friendly companies.
Ivanov is adamant that people should go out and vote on June 9 because if they stay home and do not vote, they are actually voting for Borissov and MRF leader Delyan Peevski.
CC-DB’s meeting with supporters was also attended by the coalition’s top-of-the list candidate for the Pleven constituency – Bogdan Bogdanov, and Svilen Trifonov, who’s number 2 on their candidates’ list.
