World-famous Kazakhstani violinist Roman Kim will perform in Sliven on Thursday, April 11, the local symphony orchestra said. This will be his second visit to the town, after a concert in 2022.
"Roman Kim is the virtuoso who took violin playing to a new dimension. An innovator, composer and breathtaking performer, he has become an idol for thousands of young musicians around the world. He is also called the Paganini of our time because of his passion for experimentation", said the organizers, adding that during Kim's concert in 2022, all tickets were sold out a week in advance.
Kim will present Ludwig van Beethoven's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D Major Op.61, as well as Symphony No.6 op.68, which is also known as Pastoral. The event will be conducted by Konstantin Dobroikov, who is the chief conductor and artistic director of the Sofia Soloists chamber ensemble, and previously served as the conductor of the Plovdiv State Opera from 2013 to 2022.
