The Council of Ministers Wednesday approved official development assistance through a contribution to the Georgia programme of the International Criminal Court's Trust Fund for Victims in the amount of EUR 20,000. The funding will be provided from the budget of the Foreign Ministry for development aid and humanitarian assistance.

The Fund's Georgia programme is aimed at supporting victims of war crimes and crimes against humanity from the conflict in and around South Ossetia in July-October 2008. The focus is on providing the most vulnerable victims with medical treatment, counselling and psychosocial support, as well as livelihood and socio-economic initiatives to address the damage associated with the conflict.

The Georgia programme was officially launched on April 6, 2023 for a period of three years with an initial budget of EUR 600,000.
