site.btaVazrazhdane Leader: Proposed Cabinet Lineup Is Very Weak

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov said that the cabinet lineup proposed by GERB-UDF Prime Minister-designate Mariya Gabriel is "very weak" and so is the designated head of the government.  

In his words, "this Government will last until September or October at best".

"I wouldn't say they have come to an agreement. Let's be clear, GERB have practically committed political assassination – they killed Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB). This formation has already ceased to exist," Kostadinov said. He added that "what has taken place since Sunday is the total nullification of this political project".

The Vazrazhdane leader said that GERB-UDF, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), and CC-DB argue that there is no point in holding elections now. "Put yourself in the shoes of [GERB leader] Boyko Borissov: you can take a bite of power in the next few months, destroy your direct opponent, who arrested you two years ago, and rely on the full support of MRF at the same time".
