A manufacturing plant for automotive parts and accessories will be built in Trakia Economic Zone on the territory of the southern village of Radinovo, said Valentin Kanchev, owner of the construction company, Sienit. The plant, whose construction is expected to start by the end of April, is planned to encompass 11,000 sq m. The investment is worth some EUR 35 million and will provide between 150 and 200 new jobs, Kanchev added.

The plant will develop and produce aluminium profiles with a wide range of applications in the automotive industry.

The investment programme of Unison, which has plants in China and Mexico and supplies Volvo, Fiat, and Tesla with car parts, includes the construction of an automated production facility, a canteen, two storeys of utility spaces, and an outdoor car park. The investment is directed at Bulgaria because of a European requirement to produce parts for new cars on EU territory, Kanchev said.

The owner of the site, acquired in November 2023, is ZS Europe Ltd. The plan is to build on another 10,000 sq m at a later stage.

"This is a pilot project, and if it turns out successful, the investor will further invest in other places in Bulgaria," Kanchev said.
