site.btaEuropean Parliament Hosts Photo Exhibition about Belitsa Bear Sanctuary

A photo exhibition, entitled "The Rescued: 20 years of History", of the Bear Sanctuary near Belitsa will be displayed at the European Parliament (EP) in Brussels, said the Four Paws Foundation.

The exhibition will be on at the European Parliament from March 18 to 22. It consists of 20 photographs that tell the story of the 20-year development of the Bear Sanctuary, managed jointly by the Four Paws and Brigitte Bardot Foundation.

The exhibition one can trace curious moments from the daily life of its inhabitants. The photo stories also serve as a testament to the dedication, care and compassion of the people and their transformative power on the lives of the bears in the protected park.

Among the guests at the official opening of the exhibition will be representatives of the Four Paws and Brigitte Bardot foundations, the Bear Sanctuary near Belitsa and members of the European Parliament.

The Bear Sanctuary opened its doors in 2000. Its original mission was to provide a safe haven for all the "dancing" bears in Bulgaria, as well as a few bears from Serbia and Albania. The park is a permanent home for 17 bears.
