Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic-Radman Tuesday said Zagreb will continue to support Bulgaria's full membership of the border-free Schengen area, including land borders. He gave a news conference with Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel, who is paying an official visit to Zagreb.
The two officials stressed that their countries share the aim of joining the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
Radman said Croatia would continue tapping Bulgaria's experience of seeking accession to the euro area.
The foreign ministers highlighted the friendship between their countries, bound by a centuries-old history which is not marked by any open issues. They called for an expansion of cooperation in culture, the economy and education.
The officials also commented on support for Ukraine and concerns about developments in the Middle East and the protection of civilians there.
Radman and Gabriel talked about EU enlargement towards the Western Balkan countries, which they said is important for the stability and security of their neighbours.
Later in the day, Gabriel is expected to meet with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic.
