site.btaBurgas to Host 24th National Student Festival of Spanish Theater
Students from 25 schools across the country will take part in the 24th National Student Festival of Spanish Theatre, which will be held in the Black Sea city of Burgas between February 28 and March 1, the press center of the city administration said.
Some 250 students and 40 Spanish and Bulgarian teachers, who have been preparing their plays since September, are expected to take part in the initiative. Language schools from Sofia, Varna, Dupnitsa, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo, Lovech, and Pleven will be represented.
The first and second place winners will be given the opportunity to represent Bulgaria at the 25th International Student Festival of Spanish Theatre, which will take place in Warsaw on April 22-26.
The programme includes plays based on texts by Alfonso Paso, Ester Trozzo, Federico Garcia Lorca, Ignasi Garcia Barba, among others.
The event is organized by the Education Office of the Embassy of Spain in Bulgaria in partnership with Burgas Municipality, the G.S. Rakovski High School for Romance Languages, the Elin Pelin Primary School and the State Puppet Theatre in Burgas.
