ABV Chairman Rumen Petkov and another two representatives of the Bulgarian party are in Moscow at the invitation of the United Russia party, ABV said in a press release on Saturday.

The visit is occasioned by a Forum of Supporters of the Struggle Against Modern Practices of Neocolonialism "For the Freedom of Nations" that took place in the Russian capital on February 15 and 16.

The visit is occasion by a Forum of Supporters of the Struggle Against Modern Practices of Neocolonialism "For the Freedom of Nations" that took place in the Russian capital on February 15 and 16. 

"The European Union behaves like a US colony. We want a strong European Union to defend democracy, freedoms and rights, Europe's economic and social security and safety. All this is impossible without Russia," Petkov said, addressing the Forum.
 
He noted what he called "today's unprecedented pressure on the media, the media blackout and the attack on the freedom of speech." He accused the EU of "acting entirely in favour of specific views of our partners across the ocean. All this actually erodes European freedom, European citizens' rights."

"There are no colonial states at present, but a most despicable neocolonial policy is in full swing in both Africa and Europe. The policy of exporting democracy has gained an impressive scope in our days. In the final analysis, it is Europe that loses from the sanctions policy," the ABV leader argued, citing 63 years of sanctions against Cuba, thousands of sanctions against Russia and sanctions against Chinese companies. He described the colour revolutions as "an instrument to ruin societies and states and, ultimately, to plunder economies." 

Listing "the key instruments of neocolonialism", Petkov mentioned "an attack on media and the freedom of speech, interference with educational curricula and vulgar rewriting the history of certain societies and states, and brazen intervention into the internal affairs of particular countries."
