International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) President Johan Eliasch arrived in Bulgaria for the Alpine Ski World Cup in Bansko. FIS Secretary General Michel Vion is also a guest of the biggest sporting event in the country.

Alpine skiing's stars of the recent past Tina Maze, Ted Ligety, Alberto Tomba, Marc Girardelli and Peter Popangelov will also be watching the World Cup starts live.

Before arriving in Bansko, Johann Elias and Bulgarian Ski Federation President Tseko Minev met Friday at the Council of Ministers with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel.

Gabriel said that Bulgaria as an attractive tourist destination and support for young talents were the focus of her meeting with Eliasch and Minev. "I look forward to a successful cooperation and further constructive meetings," she noted.

The first start is the giant slalom on Saturday on the Bunderitsa slope. Albert Popov and Kalin Zlatkov will participate in the giant slalom on Sunday.
