The coordination of import and transit of sunflower from Ukraine was discussed in Davos by Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov and Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, the press service of the Council of Ministers said on Tuesday.

The two were adamant that this should be done in line with the interest of Bulgarian grain producers, but also with that of producers of oil and other sunflower products who have the capacity to process more grain.

It was confirmed that the import and transit licensing regime agreed in autumn 2023 will continue to be strictly respected. Control will be carried out by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine in cooperation with the Bulgarian Customs Agency.

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Prime Minister took part in a discussion on Europe's drive for innovation, and held various meetings, including with Visa Europe CEO Charlotte Hogg and European Research Council President Prof. Maria Leptin, the release said.
