A 3.4-magnitude earthquake was registered in the Vrancea seismic zone in Southeastern Romania at 04:49 am on Thursday morning, Agerpress reported, quoting data from the National Institute for Earth Physics. It was at a depth of 81.8 km.

The same zone was hit by a 3.6-magnitude quake at 11:01 pm on Wednesday. It was at a depth of 99.4 km.

Since the start of the year, 12 earthquakes have occurred in Romania ranging from 2.1 to 3.6 on the Richter scale. In 2023, the strongest earthquake was with a magnitude of 5.7, recorded on February 14 in the southwestern part of the country at a depth of 6.3 km.
