Bulgaria won eight medals at the International Friendship Gymnastics competition for athletes with Down syndrome, held in the Norwegian capital from October 31 to November 3. Athletes from the Adapted Physical Activity Federation won one gold, four silver and three bronze medals.
In the sports gymnastics competition, Emilian Kostadinov took the gold in pommel horse and the silver in the all-around and rings. Plamen Grozdanov took three bronze medals: in the floor exercise, pommel horse and parallel bars.
Ramonola Sikander also recorded an excellent performance, placing fifth on all apparatus and in the all-around.
In the rhythmic gymnastics competition, Bulgaria had three representatives - Dilyana Popova, Tomislava Stoyanova and Vasilena Bogdanova, who placed second in the finals with her ball and clubs performances.
The athletes train under the guidance of Hristina Vassileva and Darina Nikolova.
