site.bta158 New Cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria Wednesday

July 1 (BTA) - There were 158 new confirmed COVID-19
infections in Bulgaria as of Wednesday, according to the
national information platform for coronavirus,
www.coronavirus.bg. The new cases were found after 3,343 PCR
tests.

The total number of people with coronavirus in this country thus
 reaches 4,989.

The active cases are 2,083, the recoveries 2,676. 345 patients
are in hospital, including 32 in intensive care. The infected
persons include 144 doctors, 149 nurses, 71 orderlies and 49
other medical staff.

Seven more fatalities were reported Wednesday, bringing the
total death toll to 230.

The number of new infections is largest in Sofia (43) and the
southern town of Smolyan (36). RY/LN/
