A Bulgarian parliamentary delegation is paying an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, where a number of meetings and talks are scheduled.

In an interview with the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), Vietnamese Ambassador to Sofia Do Hoang Long stressed the importance of the official visit of National Assembly President Rosen Zhelyazkov to Vietnam, which will start on Friday, January 5, and end on Tuesday, January 9.

He noted that this is the first visit by a high-ranking Bulgarian official to Vietnam in more than a decade. The previous one was the visit of President Rosen Plevneliev in October 2013.

According to Ambassador Long, the visit is an expression of the gratitude and feelings that the Bulgarian state and the Bulgarian people have always felt towards Vietnam as a traditional, reliable, and loyal friend and one of the most important partners in Southeast Asia.
