site.btaBulgaria to Host Zonal Qualifier for U18W European Volleyball Championship

Bulgaria will host the first zonal qualifier for women for the U18 European Volleyball Championship at Sofia's Hristo Botev Hall from January 17 to 21. The programme for the championship was announced on Wednesday. 

The Bulgarian national team, led by Antonina Zetova, will face Kosovo on January 19. This will be the only game for Bulgaria in preliminary Group A. Initially, Romania was supposed to participate too but their team qualified automatically as one of the host countries for the European Volleyball Championship in July. The lack of a third team in Group A guarantees the young Bulgarians a place in the semifinals, which will be held on January 20.

Group B includes the teams of Turkiye, the Republic of North Macedonia, and Serbia, who will determine the other two semi-finalists.
