Police have caught 41 people driving under the influence of alcohol in a day, the Interior Ministry said Monday.
Of those, 22 showed BAC of 0.5‰ and 1.2‰, 19 were over 1.2‰, and three refused testing. Nine drivers were found driving under the influence of drugs and two refused to be tested.
Within the framework of the ordered specialised police operation for compliance with the Road Traffic Act, 11,017 motor vehicles and 13,340 drivers and passengers were inspected.
A total of 2,653 citations and 553 ticket fines were issued.
The focus of the operation was to prevent driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, as well as driving without a driver's license.
