On Christmas Eve, the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church Bulgarian Patriarchate published a Christmas message on the occasion of the Nativity of Jesus Christ.
The The Holy Synod noted that much has been said and can be said about the great feast of the Nativity of the Savior. The greatest fathers and teachers of the Church have pondered over the wondrous mystery of the Incarnation, and there is hardly a Christian in the world who has not thought about what is celebrated on the day of the Nativity of Christ, the message reads, stressing that the deepest meaning, the content of this holiday that can be described with the fewest words, is that is is a celebration of God's love. A self-sacrificing love, unfathomable for the human mind, with which "God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16), stated the patriarchal and synodal Christmas message published by the Bulgarian Orthodox Church - Bulgarian Patriarchate.
