David Garrett will return to Bulgaria with his classic performance Iconic, the organizers from BG Sound Stage said. After the tour of the same name, which travelled through Europe, the USA, the Middle East and China, vas well as Plovdiv this summer in a packed Ancient Theatre, David Garrett is coming again for two events. The concerts will take place on March 5 in Sofia and on March 6 in Varna.
The tour showcases the classic album of the same name, released in November 2022, inspired by legendary violinists whose tunes thrilled Gareth as a child. The music of Bach, Dvorak, Gluck, Kreisler, Mendelssohn and Schumann is presented in a new arrangement, in a trio of violin, guitar and bass.
David Garrett began playing the violin at the age of four. He made his stage debut when he was ten years old and became the youngest artist signed to Deutsche Grammophon just three years later. By his mid-teens he had built a stellar solo career and recorded all twenty-four of Paganini's Caprices. He later enrolled at the world-famous Juilliard School in New York as one of Itzhak Perlman 's first students. Over the past two decades, Garrett has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras and conductors, reaching new audiences around the world with concerts that include rock anthems, classical sonatas, film themes and solo miniatures. At the beginning of 2022, he published his autobiography Wenn Ihr Wüsstet, which tells the story of the rocky road he walked from the child prodigy to a world-famous musician.
