By a decision of the Council of Ministers, Deputy Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel was appointed as the Chair of the Council for Civil Society Development (CCSD), the government press centre said on Wednesday.

As an advisory body of the Council of Ministers for the development and implementation of policies to support the development of civil society, the CCSD is headed by a deputy prime ,inister - the only representative of the state in the Council, who leads its meetings, but does not participate in the voting and  decision-making . The advisory body has 15 members, 14 of which are non-profit legal entities with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the implementation of community service activities in support of the development of civil society and civil participation.
