The Heritage BG Centre for Excellence held its first annual award ceremony. This year's laureates were: Bulgarian National Radio, Grandmaster Victoria Radeva, the Municipality of Lovech, the Agora Association, the National Academy of Photography Yanka Kyurkchieva and Photoworld, Rotary Club Sofia-Centre, the 56th Secondary School Konstantin Irechek, Alma Alter Theatre-laboratory, Dr. Virginia Mihailova-Dimitrova. They received their awards at a solemn ceremony on Wednesday at Sofia University, which was part of the closing event of the project Construction and Development of the Heritage BG Centre for Excellence.

At the ceremony, each of the awardees was introduced through a short video made by the organizers and awarded with a 3D printed statuette in the shape of the letter H.

At the event, a private award was presented on behalf of the Women and Science National Committee at the Ministry of Education and Science to the creator the project, Prof. Olya Hristova.

Among those present at the event were the rector of Sofia University. Prof. Georgi Valchev; the rector of the Vasil Levski National Sports Academy, Prof. Nikolay Izov; members and directors of institutes at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences; the director of the Regional History Museum - Sofia, Assoc. Dr. Veneta Khandzhiyska-Yankulova; representatives of arious project partners and university professors.

The project was implemented by twelve leading organizations, pillars of the national scientific infrastructure, in the fields of the cultural and creative sectors (architecture, films, TV, video games and multimedia), cultural heritage, design, including fashion design, festivals, music, performing and visual arts, publishing, radio. Through their activities, they have had a key impact on the management and preservation of cultural heritage, the management of protected areas and environmental protection, the development of regions, education, various economic sectors from the creative and recreational industries, the development of library, museum and archival work, the arts. etc.
