The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) will assist Bulgaria to prepare its national skills development plan. This will be done under a new joint project financed through the technical support instrument of the European Commission. The results and perspectives of the IRPEAL project (Implementation of the renewed priorities of the European Adult Learning Programme) were presented at a joint workshop. The project was financed under the Erasmus+ program and implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry's press center said on Monday.
"It is important to work on the real and practical skills that are necessary for youths and for those who are in the stage of their work realization, i.e. lifelong learning and adult skills," said Deputy Minister of Education and Science Marieta Georgieva.
During the forum, more employers were encouraged to support their personnel to validate their skills, as well as to know the new recommendations and tools of the European Union (micro credentials and individual training accounts, digital and green transition).
In addition to representatives of various Bulgarian institutions and organizations, experts from the EU Directorate-General for Structural Reform Support, from the OECD, from Latvia and Norway participated in the working meeting.
