Minister of Labour and Social Policy Ivanka Shalapatova, University of Telecommunications and Post (UTP) Rector Prof. Miglena Temelkova and Huawei Technologies Bulgaria CEO Terry Li signed a memorandum of cooperation to provide training to unemployed persons in information and communication technologies (ICT) knowledge and skills, as well as to support and promote workforce development in the ICT industry, said the Ministry on its website.

The document provides for an exchange of experience and good practices in the field by organizing online ICT courses and trainings which would be held at UTP together with Huawei Technologies Bulgaria, the Ministry said.

"For our team, it is important to support job seekers through the structures of Minister of Labour and Social Policy by providing new opportunities for training and development," Shalapatova pointed out, adding that the signing of the memorandum will be another opportunity to increase the level of digital competences in Bulgaria and will support the process of digital transition.

"We see this memorandum as a social cause," stated Prof. Temelkova.

"The strategic partnership between government, businesses and academia aims to develop and implement comprehensive programmes that will promote digital literacy, increase skills and create a more inclusive society," said Terry Li.
