President Rumen Radev on Friday unveiled the Bulgarian pavilion at the United Nations Climate Change Conference – COP 28. 

Attending the opening of the first ever Bulgarian pavilion in the history of the forum were Polish President Andrzej Duda, European Commission Vice President Maros Sefcovic, Brad Crabtree, Assistant Secretary for the US Department of Energy and senior officials from Kazakhstan and China.

“For the first time since becoming a member of the UN Climate Change Convention Bulgaria has opened its own pavilion, showcasing technological solutions, successful technologies and green business models. I believe that achieving sustainable climate solution is possible only through close cooperation between the countries, experience exchange, knowledge transfer and joint action,” said Radev in his opening remarks. 
 
The Bulgarian President further said that Bulgaria is highly committed to contributing to the fight against climate change and to building safer, more resilient and prosperous world. The opening of the Bulgarian pavilion is an illustration of this commitment and of the growing interest of different state holders in Bulgarian society in the climate issue. “Having in mind the complexity of the climate transformation the main challenge we face today is to guaranty sustainable climate transformation, providing and ensuring guarantee for quality and standard of life of our citizens and for keeping competitiveness,” he concluded. 
 
According to Radev, the pavilion will showcase innovative technologies and projects in relation to AI, green energy and carbon neutral sectors.

The Bulgarian pavilion will host many side events thus contributing for forging multilateral cooperation and developing partnership.  

The Bulgarian head of State is taking part in the World Climate Action Summit (WCAS) within the framework of the forum.
