Vidin hosts the EMPATHEAST three-day international forum for social change through empathy. The aim of the event is to bring together people, organizations, international practitioners, researchers and artists to seek solutions to local problems, to see local potential in a new way, Yoana Stoyanova of the Ideas Factory Association told BTA on Saturday.
An exhibition of 18 contemporary artists of the Baba Residence initiative is on display at the Jules Pasquin Cultural Centre. It represents the artists' stay in six villages in Northwestern Bulgaria. The exhibition presents objects, audio and visual installations and photographs. It will be on display until the end of the following week.
The forum will also include lectures and discussions with local people who will talk about initiatives that make culture come true in Vidin, bring people together and give new life to certain spaces. Speakers from Iceland are also taking part through sharing their practical experience.
Three tours have been organized to the villages of Koshava, Deleyna and Sinagovtsi, where young people have created and revived spaces during their month-long stay there in the summer, as well as screenings of documentary-artistic films shot in the villages, Stoyanova explained.
The aim of the forum is to advertise some of the neglected treasures of the Vidin area.
The event is organized with the support of the Vidin Community Centres Fund association.
