The weather in the mountains is cloudy and windy, with snow in the higher parts, meaning that the conditions for mountain hiking on Saturday are poor, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) told BTA.
The MRS advises hikers to keep an eye on the weather forecast, take into account the low temperatures in the mountains, only take familiar routes and bring winter gear with them.
The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology warned that it will be overcast in the mountains, with rainshowers, heavier in West (snowshowers above 1,800 m). Clearing in evening. Strong west-southwesterly wind (stormy and gusty in high-altitude open parts), is to be expected. Highs: around 9 C at 1,200 m, around 2 C at 2,000 m.
