A total of 103 Romanian nationals will leave the Gaza Strip on Tuesday through the Rafah border checkpoint to Egypt, the Romanian Foreign Ministry said. On Monday night, the Romanian citizens and their families were allowed to transit through the Rafah border checkpoint and enter Egyptian territory.

Mobile consular teams of the Crisis Unit with the Romanian Foreign Ministry will provide support to the staff of the Rafah border checkpoint during the evacuation of the Romanian nationals.

The Romanian citizens and their families will then be picked up by representatives of the Romanian Embassy in Egypt. Two mobile teams will accompany them to Cairo before them leaving for Romania by special air transport.

Some 350 Romanian nationals live in the Gaza Strip. A total of 260 of them and their family members have asked to leave Gaza, Romanian TV channel Digi24 said.
