Czech Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade: Bulgaria Offers Huge Potential for Cooperation with Europe

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Edvard Kozusnik said during a forum in Plovdiv that Bulgaria offers huge potential for cooperation with Europe. "So far, successful companies such as bTV Media Group, Yettel, Musala Soft, Energo-Pro, Hronovský, Renomia and BTL Industries have invested over EUR 2 billion in Bulgaria. With the "Why Bulgaria?" forum, BTL Industries has launched a new wave of Czech investments in Bulgaria," Kozusnik said at the first business forum dedicated to development opportunities in the country, the event organizers said.

Dozens of entrepreneurs, representatives of the Bulgarian and Czech governments, students and media took part in the forum, which was organized by BTL Industries Bulgaria with the support of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bulgaria. Its main objective is to show young people that Bulgaria is the place where innovation and entrepreneurship meet and which provides many opportunities to build their own success story. Both Bulgarian entrepreneurs working abroad and foreign investors developing their business in the country participated in the forum.

BTL Industries Bulgaria CEO and forum organizer Georgi Petkov said, that for him "the answer to the question "Why Bulgaria?" is clear - I see endless opportunities for development here. The favorable business environment in Bulgaria is an exceptional prerequisite for the realization of innovative ideas. The secret of success is to invest resources and time to prepare young people for business."

The second panel discussion focused on Bulgarian entrepreneurs and business leaders who told their "recipe for success" in creating a successful business in Bulgaria. The "Why Bulgaria?" forum was joined by high school students and entrepreneurship-oriented students from universities across the country.

The forum, which took place October 11, was also attended by Deputy Minister of Economy Industry Ivaylo Shotev. He underlined the good economic cooperation between Bulgaria and the Czech Republic. 

According to him, the trade between the two countries for the first six months of 2023 amounted to EUR 1.124 billion, an increase of 15.4%. 

"You young people are the future of our country and I believe that you can successfully develop your potential and realize yourselves in Bulgaria," Shotev said. He urged them to stay in Bulgaria and find their professional path in Bulgaria. In his words, the country offers a number of opportunities for successful realization.
