Bulgaria's Ambassador in Tokyo Marieta Arabadjieva joined a dozen female ambassadors to Japan as a panelist at an annual Vision Network by Female Governors and Mayors Conference, held in the Japanese capital on October 7 under the auspices of the Governor of Tokyo Yuriko Koike, the Bulgarian diplomatic mission reported in a Facebook post.  

Arabadjieva spoke at a panel discussion on technology and gender equality to promote women's empowerment. She highlighted the leading position of women in the Bulgarian ICT industry and the strong tradition of STEM training in Bulgaria, the post said.

As part of the initiative, the participating female governers and mayors annually organize annually a bazaar of their prefectures' products at Tokyo Railway Station.

"This year, on a proposal by Ambassador Arabadjieva, products from the countries of the female ambassadors participating in the conference were included for the first time. Bulgaria was represented by Bulgarian honey," the Embassy added.
