The Polish Institute in Sofia will mark the Night of Literature on September 27 with Wislawa Szymborska's poems (1923-2012). Actress Aneta Ivanova will read a selection of poems from the book "Moment" at the Ko-Op Art Space, organizers said.

This is the first collection of poems, written by Szymborska after being awarded the Nobel Prize. It has been translated into Bulgarian by Iskra Angelova and published in 2008 by the Sofia University Publishing House.

Szymborska was a Polish poet, essayist, translator, and recipient of the 1996 Nobel Prize in Literature. July 2023 marked her centenary.

She penned some 350 poems and her works have been translated into 40 languages.

On the occasion of her centenary the Polish Senate declared her patron of 2023.
