Bulgaria's Council of Ministers has designated Petar Petrov and Denyo Denev to replace Stanislav Stanchev and Rumen Georgiev as Deputy Chairpersons of the State Agency for National Security (SANS), the Government Information Service said on Friday.

Petrov has a long professional career in the security services. He has worked in the Interior Ministry system and has held senior positions at SANS. He was elected to the 48th and the 49th National Assemblies.

Denev worked at SANS between 2008 and 2018, after which he was part of the Anti-Corruption and Criminal Assets Forfeiture Commission.
