The teams of the General Directorate for Fire Safety and Civil Protection responded to 69 signals related to the bad weather conditions during the past twenty-four hours, stated the website of the Directorate on Saturday. 

In Sofia, 28 signals were responded to on Friday, mainly in the districts of Simeonovo, Dragalevtsi and Vitosha. 

There are currently no reports of people in distress or in danger as a result of the heavy rainfall in some areas of the country, the Interior Ministry said on June 17. 

The teams of the General Directorate of Fire Safety and Civil Protection responded to 40 signals from midnight to 12:00. Of these, four signals were for fires, 35 for emergency rescue activities and one false signal.

By midnight, there were reports of flooded houses in the town of Simeonevo. Flooded areas were reported to the municipality of Novi Iskar. 

The Kutinska river has left its bed and flooded streets and houses along its course in the town. Two teams from the the city’s Fire Department with six employees and one team from Novi Iskar, as well as teams from Emergency Aid and Prevention at the Sofia Municipality were sent to the scene. 

The head of the Fire Safety and Civil Protection - Novi Iskar and the town officers on duty are also on site. As of 05:00, the water has entered its channel and the teams are acting on received signals. 

There are also flooded houses in the village of Podgumer. One team from the Sofia’s Fire Department has been sent to the scene. By 03:00 the water has receded. So far there are no reports of people in distress in both places.

In Sofia district, firefighters responded to nine calls - five in Pirdop, two in Svoge and one each in Slivnitsa and Vraches. 

At 01:00 on June 17, signals were received that the river Shugla at the village of. The river Shugla had left its bed and flooded houses in the village along its course. 

A team from the Montana fire brigade was sent to the scene. A woman requested evacuation and was taken to an address in the town of Montana.

By 03:00 the rain had stopped and the water began to drain, and early this morning drainage of the affected houses began. 

In the Vratsa district six signals for damage as a result of the heavy rains have been submitted over the past twenty-four hours. One of the alerts was for evacuation of three people from a former and non-working workshop in Vratsa. Krivodol. The road from Vratsa to Krivodol was temporarily closed.

In the village of Lilyache, four signals of flooded houses were received. Four people were evacuated from two houses. A man was also evacuated from a stranded car on the road Vratsa - Mezdra at the fork for the village of Moravitsa.

After heavy rain passed through the towns of Kula and Dimovo and the villages of Brankovtsi, Bela and Medeshevtsi, 17 damage reports were received, mostly for flooded basements and fallen trees. 

At 23:30 on June 16, reports were received that the river over the dyke in the town of Dimorovo had burst its banks. Danavci. The water flooded many houses. People from the lower part of the town were evacuated. During the night, fire brigade and police teams went round for people who had failed to evacuate. Five more people were evacuated. By 05:30 on June 17 morning all addresses from which reports were made had been visited. 

Drainage of flooded houses will continue during the day. There are no reports of people in distress.
