April 27 (BTA) - Bulgarian President Rumen Radev on Wednesday will hand a cabinet-forming mandate to the prime minister designate of There Is Such a People (TISP), which is the second largest parliamentary group in the 45th National Assembly, the head of State's Press Secretariat said on Tuesday.

On Monday, TISP leader Svetoslav "Slavi" Trifonov said on Facebook that his party's prime minister designate, world chess champion Antoaneta Stefanova, will return the cabinet-forming mandate as soon as she receives it.

Trifonov explained that his party does not have a sufficient number of MPs or partners in order to form a stable cabinet. "The political entities that offer support are pernicious, greedy and provenly discredited. What they offer is dependence rather than support," he commented.

TISP have 51 MPs and will be mandated to put together a government after the largest parliamentary group, GERB-UDF (75 MPs), returned the mandate last Friday three days after receiving it.

Given that the second cabinet-forming attempt is unsuccessful as well, under the Constitution the head of State is bound to mandate a third parliamentary group of his choice to do so within seven days. Failing this, Radev will have to dissolve the National Assembly and appoint a caretaker cabinet to prepare and hold early parliamentary elections within two months. RI/LG
