site.btaChief Prosecutors of Bulgaria and Turkey Meet in Sofia

June 23 (BTA) - On the sidelines of the 2nd Working Forum for the Balkan States' General Prosecutors, which is underway in Sofia, Bulgarian Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev had a working meeting with the General Prosecutor of Turkey's Supreme Court of Appeal, Bekir Sahin, the Bulgarian prosecuting magistracy reported on Wednesday.

Discussing matters of mutual interest, they underscored their institutions excellent cooperation in criminal matters and the fight against organized crime and illegal migration.

The Balkan forum is entitled "The Role of the Prosecution Service in Reinforcing the Rule of Law." The first edition was held in Izmir, Turkey in 2019. The aim is to promote cooperation and interaction between the prosecution services of the Balkan countries by exchanging good practices. RY/VE
