site.btaBulgaria, Germany Presidents Discuss Strategic Investments

Sofia, July 8 (BTA) - President Rumen Radev told his German
counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier on Thursday that Bulgaria
counts on attracting a strategic German investor. Radev said:
"Bulgaria has amassed enough experience and is ready to attract
investments not only in the extraction of raw materials but also
in areas of high value added. We expect a strategic investor
from Germany that can raise business-to-government relations to
a radically new level."

The two presidents talked on the sidelines of the Sixth Summit
of the Three Seas Initiative, hosted by Radev in Sofia between
Thursday and Friday. The Radev-Steinmeier meeting was also
attended by Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister for EU Funds Atanas
Pekanov and Foreign Minister Svetlan Stoev.

The presidents noted the excellent political dialogue and
economic cooperation between the two countries, stressing that
bilateral economic relations have maintained their positive
dynamics despite the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. They
expressed their shared view that vocational training, which
Bulgaria is developing with German support, is an investment in
a subsequent expansion of bilateral economic and investment
exchange. GI/VE
