site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 2,050 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 9.73%

October 1 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases
in Bulgaria reached 502,162, after 21,078 tests identified 2,050
 new infections on Thursday, according to data posted on
https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at
9.73 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 497 positive
tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 158 cases, Varna Region
with 152 and Burgas Region - 125.

The active cases are 43,959. Currently, the hospitalized
patients number 5,201, including 462 in intensive care.

Another 1,541 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24
hours, bringing the total to 437,321.

70 fatalities were reported, and the death toll now adds up to
20,882.

With 8,914 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 2 539 650
vaccine doses have been administered so far and 1,330,199 people
 are fully vaccinated.
