October 2 (BTA) - The Bulgarian healthcare authorities confirmed 2,091 new cases of COVID-19 in the country on Friday, October 1, based on the results of 22,340 tests, according to information published on the national coronavirus web portal, https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate for the day was 9.4 per cent.

About 87.04 per cent of the new cases are people who are not vaccinated against coronavirus.

The active cases are 45,056. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 5,182, including 463 in intensive care.

Another 907 COVID-19 patients recovered from the disease on Friday. The authorities also reported 87 deaths in 24 hours. In 96.55 per cent of the fatal cases, the patients had not been vaccinated.
