site.btaRegional Development Ministry Paid Some EUR 0.5 Mln to Beneficiaries under Cross-border Cooperation Programs in Last 10 Days

November 18 (BTA) - In the last ten days, the Bulgarian Regional Development and Public Works Ministry paid some 500,000 euro to beneficiaries, carrying out projects under European cross-border cooperation (CBC) programmes, Director General of the General Directorate for Strategic Planning and Regional Development Programs and Deputy Regional Development Minister Nina Stoimenova said here on Thursday.


So far, data shows that the implementation of the three Interreg cross-border cooperation programmes with Bulgarian participation (with Turkey, Serbia and North Macedonia) proceeds at a good pace, Stoimenova noted.


So far, 73 grant agreements and six technical assistance agreements, totaling 19.9 million euro, were signed under the Interreg IPA CBC Bulgaria - Republic of North Macedonia 2014-2020 programme. This equals 102.47 per cent of the programme's total budget, as overcontracting was approved. Payments amounting to 14.7 million euros have been made, equal to 76 per cent of the total value of the programme.


Ninety-nine grant agreements and six technical assistance agreements, totaling 37.4 million euro, were signed under the Interreg IPA CBC Bulgaria - Serbia 2014-2020 programme, which is nearly 110 per cent of the programme's total budget, as overcontracting was approved. Payments amounting to 23.7 million euros have been made, equal to 70 per cent of the total value of the programme.


One hundred and sixteen contracts, totaling 31 million euro, were signed under the Interreg IPA CBC Bulgaria - Turkey 2014-2020 programme. This equals nearly 105 per cent of the programme's total budget, as overcontracting was approved. Payments amounting to 19.6 million euros have been made, equal to 65 per cent of the total value of the programme. DD/KK
